The Pelamis Wave Energy Converter(WEC) is a radical concept that over the last ten years has evolved from an idea to reality. 1/7th SCALE PROTOTYPE

The 1/7 scale prototype was used for sea trials, to confirm the data from the tank testing and computer models. This prototype was built by Shetland Composites. Shetland Composites also built smaller prototypes for wave tank work.
